Utopia Lume 5 Light Ceiling Pendant - Brushed Aged Brass & Clear Glass

The Utopia Lume is a five light ceiling pendant built around a steel frame finished in a brushed aged brass, paired with clear glass detailing that catches the light rather than hiding it. It's the kind of fitting that works as a quiet centrepiece over a table or in a hallway, giving a room proper ambient light without dominating the space.

The brushed aged brass finish has a warm, slightly weathered quality to it, so expect gentle variation from piece to piece rather than a uniform, flat surface. It sits well against warm woods, brass hardware elsewhere in a room, or simply against a plain ceiling where it can act as the main point of interest. The clear glass elements soften the outline of the frame and help the light spread rather than sitting as five hard points of brightness.

How it works

This pendant takes five E14 bulbs, each rated up to 7W LED, and bulbs are not supplied so you'll need to add your own to suit the brightness and colour you want. It's dimmable, provided you fit dimmable bulbs, which makes it easy to shift between a bright, functional light and something softer in the evening. The chain drop is adjustable, running from 45cm up to 185cm, so it can be set to suit a low or high ceiling. As with any mains wired ceiling fitting, we'd recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than fitting it yourself.

Where it works best

Given its IP20 rating, this pendant is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than anywhere damp, so it's best suited to spaces like a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway. Hung centrally over a dining table it gives a lovely spread of light for evening meals, while in a living room or bedroom it works well as the main fitting, particularly once paired with a dimmable bulb for evening use.
