Utopia Lume 3 Light Ceiling Pendant - Brushed Aged Brass & Clear Glass

The Utopia Lume 3 Light Ceiling Pendant brings together brushed aged brass metalwork and clear glass rod detailing for a fitting that feels a little more considered than the average pendant. Three light sources are arranged along the frame, so instead of one central glow you get a spread of light across the room, and the adjustable drop means it can be set to suit rooms with different ceiling heights.

The brushed aged brass and clear glass finish

The metal frame is finished in a brushed aged brass, a warmer, slightly worn toned brass rather than a bright polished one, which tends to sit well against darker paint colours, warm wood tones or exposed brick. Because the brass is aged by hand, small variations in tone and texture are part of the finish rather than a flaw, so no two fittings will look completely identical. Alongside the metalwork, double layered clear glass rods add a bit of sparkle and catch the light without feeling overly ornate, and the whole fixture is hung from a chain and clear flex, which keeps the focus on the brass and glass rather than the cable.

How this ceiling pendant works

It takes three E14 bulbs rated at 7W each, and bulbs are not included so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room. It can be used with dimmable bulbs on a compatible dimmer switch if you want to soften the light in the evening, though it will run as a standard on and off fitting with non dimmable bulbs. The pendant is Class II rated, and the drop is adjustable so it can be positioned at the right height once it is hung. As with any mains wired ceiling fitting, we would recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and because it weighs a little over 10kg, it is worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take that weight before installation.

Where it works best

With an IP20 rating, this pendant is designed for dry, indoor spaces rather than bathrooms or anywhere exposed to damp or splashing. It suits living rooms and dining rooms particularly well, where the three light sources can create a warm focal point over a table or seating area, and it works equally nicely in a hallway or bedroom where a bit of brass and glass detail overhead adds some character.
