Utopia Hammered Disc Pendant Light - Brass

This pendant light brings a bit of texture and warmth to a room through its hammered disc shade, a single wide circle of brass plated metalwork suspended on an adjustable cable. Rather than a smooth, uniform surface, the hammering catches the light and throws soft, shifting reflections across the disc, giving the fitting a handmade character that a flat finish wouldn't have.

About this brass finish

The shade is made from brass plated metalwork paired with fabric flex, so you get the warm gold toned look of brass with a softer, textile covered cable running down to the ceiling rose. Because the hammered texture is finished by hand, expect gentle variation from piece to piece, no two discs catch the light in exactly the same way. It pairs naturally with warm wood furniture, black or brushed metal fittings, and other brass accents in a room.

How this pendant light works

It's designed to take a single 10W LED bulb with an E27 fitting (the bulb itself is not supplied, so you'll need to add your own). It's compatible with dimmable bulbs if you'd like to dim it, though this depends on using a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting is rated Class I, meaning it requires an earth connection as part of a properly wired circuit. As with any mains wired ceiling light, we'd recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and it's worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take the weight before you hang it. The drop is adjustable between 30cm and 150cm, so it can be set to suit different ceiling heights.

Where it works best

The wide disc shade and warm brass tone make this a good fit for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways where you want a single striking point of light rather than uniform overhead brightness. It also works well as a kitchen island light, hung in a row or paired singly over a breakfast bar, where the hammered texture becomes a real feature at eye level.
