This particular finish combines a steel fitting plated in bright nickel with a clear glass shade that has been given a subtle ribbed texture. The ribbing softens and scatters the bulb's light rather than showing it as a single hard point, while still letting the glow come through clearly. Because the glass and plating are finished by hand, expect a small amount of natural variation piece to piece, which is part of the character of the fitting rather than a flaw. The cool tone of the nickel sits comfortably alongside chrome, steel or glass accents nearby.

How this pendant light works

The fitting takes a single E27 bulb, with a 10W GLS style bulb suggested as a guide to fit, though the bulb itself is not supplied so you can choose the base and finish you prefer. It will dim if you fit dimmable bulbs, but is not dimmable with standard ones. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be wired to an earthed electrical supply, so we would always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than tackling the wiring yourself. The drop is adjustable from around 47cm up to 157.5cm, giving you flexibility over how low it hangs, and the shade itself measures roughly 21cm across and 25cm in height.
