The Utopia Finesse Medium Single Pendant is a single ceiling light built around a ribbed glass shade, the kind of gentle vertical texture that catches light along its length rather than just at the bulb. It hangs from a bright nickel plate fitting, giving it a cleaner, cooler look than a brass or bronze pendant, and makes a good single drop over a table or an island without feeling heavy handed.

The frame and ceiling plate are finished in bright nickel, a bright, slightly reflective plate that pairs easily with chrome taps, stainless steel appliances, or black ironmongery alike. The shade itself is clear ribbed glass, made from glass and steel, so any variation in the ribbing or the way light passes through is part of the handmade character of the piece rather than a fault.

How it works

This pendant takes a single 10W E27 GLS bulb, which is not supplied, so you will need to add your own on installation. It is dimmable, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, standard bulbs will not dim. The drop is adjustable between roughly 41cm and 151cm, with a 120cm cable, so it can be set relatively low over a table or raised for a taller room. As a mains wired Class I fitting, it should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician. It weighs around 2kg once fully assembled, so it is worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take that weight before installation.

With an IP20 rating, this pendant is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere with direct moisture. It suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and its compact single drop makes it a natural choice as a repeated fitting over a kitchen island as well as a single statement piece elsewhere in the home.
