The Finesse pendant is a single ceiling light built around a simple contrast: a slim, bright nickel plated frame holding a clear hammered glass shade. The glass has a textured, dimpled surface rather than a smooth one, so instead of a flat pool of light you get a softly broken, glinting spread across the room. It hangs from an adjustable cable, so the drop can be set to suit anything from a low kitchen island to a taller ceiling elsewhere in the house.
About this finish
This version pairs a bright nickel plated frame with a clear hammered glass shade. The nickel gives the metalwork a cool, reflective finish that sits comfortably alongside chrome, steel or glass accessories already in a room, while the hammered texture of the glass is what does most of the visual work, catching light differently depending on where you're standing. As with any hand finished glass, expect a little natural variation in the texture from piece to piece.
How this pendant light works
It's designed for one 10W E27 GLS bulb, which is not supplied, so you'll need to add your own on installation. It's dimmable, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, a standard bulb won't dim on its own. The fitting is rated Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed as part of a correctly wired installation. As with any mains wired light, we'd always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than tackling the wiring yourself.
Where it works best
With an IP20 rating, this pendant is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere damp. It suits everyday living spaces well: think a kitchen island where a single, well placed drop of light is useful, a dining table, a living room, bedroom or hallway. The adjustable drop (57cm to 167.5cm) makes it easy to fine tune the hanging height for whichever of these rooms it ends up in.
