This large single pendant is built around a simple idea: one generous glass shade, hung low enough to feel like a proper feature. The frame is finished in bright nickel and holds a clear ribbed glass shade, so the light itself becomes part of the room's character rather than disappearing into the ceiling.

The fitting pairs a bright nickel frame with a clear ribbed glass shade, and the vertical ribbing catches and scatters light rather than letting it pour out in one direction. It sits well against warmer wood tones or cooler metals alike, and works equally in a fairly minimal room or a busier, more layered one. As with any glass shade of this kind, expect the odd very slight variation from piece to piece rather than perfect uniformity.

How this pendant light works

It takes a single 10W E27 GLS bulb, which is not supplied, so you'll need to add your own on installation. It's dimmable, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, so check compatibility before you buy your lamps. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed, and the drop is adjustable, so it can be set at the right height for your room once it's hung. Because this is a mains wired ceiling light, it should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than fitted as a DIY job. At around 2.1kg, it's also worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can comfortably take the weight before you hang it.

Where this pendant works best

This is a natural fit for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and its single large shade also makes it a good choice above a kitchen island where you want one clear pool of light rather than a run of smaller fittings. As an IP20 fitting, it's designed for dry indoor rooms rather than anywhere damp, so keep it out of bathrooms and other wet areas.
