Utopia Finesse 13 Light Cascade Ceiling Pendant - Antique Brass & Clear Ribbed Glass

The Finesse 13 Light Cascade is a large scale ceiling pendant built for a room with real height to play with. Thirteen ribbed glass shades tumble at staggered lengths from a central frame, reading as one continuous cascade of light rather than a cluster of separate fittings. It's the sort of piece that naturally becomes the focal point of a hallway with a tall ceiling.

This version pairs a steel frame finished in antique brass with clear ribbed glass shades. The ribbing breaks up the light rather than showing a plain bulb, so each shade gives a softer, textured glow. As with any hand finished brasswork, expect gentle variation from piece to piece rather than a flat, uniform coating, that variation is part of the character of the finish rather than a flaw.

How it works

Each of the 13 arms takes a 10W LED bulb with a screw fitting (E27); bulbs are not supplied, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room. The pendant can be dimmed, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, it won't dim on standard LEDs alone. It is wired to Class I electrical standards, meaning it needs a proper earth connection as part of a safe installation. The fitting drops from around 337cm to 377cm depending on how the cascade is set, with a diameter of approximately 58cm, so it's worth checking this against your ceiling height and the space around it before ordering. Given the scale and the number of arms involved, we'd always recommend having this one installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, both for safe wiring and for getting the drop height right.

Where it works best

With its dramatic drop and wide spread, this pendant is best suited to a hallway with a double height ceiling or another room with plenty of height to spare, rather than a standard ceiling height space. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it's designed for dry indoor rooms only, so it isn't intended for bathrooms or anywhere it might be exposed to damp or steam.
