A quiet piece of wall sculpture

The Brandon wall sconce is built around a single curved steel shade with no visible fixings. It's a simple silhouette designed to work as much as a piece of wall sculpture as a light source.

Gesso white finish

In gesso white, the surface has a chalky, plaster like texture rather than a flat painted finish, closer to render or lime wash than gloss. It's a warm off white rather than a stark white, so it sits comfortably against pale or plastered walls and in Scandinavian leaning schemes without looking clinical.

How it works

Fitted for a single E27 bulb (40W max, not supplied), the shade opens at the front to cast a soft, forward facing glow rather than a hard directional beam. It's IP20 rated for dry, indoor rooms only, and isn't suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

Where it works best

Its pale, textured finish suits hallways, bedrooms and living spaces where you want gentle ambient light without the fixture becoming a focal point, either side of a bed or mirror, or spaced along a run of wall.
