TOOY Structure 'Pilar & Viga' Vertical 97cm Wall

A Near Metre Tall Wall Light, Pillar Style

The Tooy Pilar & Viga vertical wall light in its tallest size is designed by Marco Casamonti of Studio Archea, and it works like a column of light fixed to the wall. It is a large fitting: it stands approximately 97cm high, 16cm wide and 15cm deep. Tall and slim, it suits a hallway, a stairwell or a long blank wall, and it sends light up and down.

Beige or Bronzed Steel

In Beige the tall column blends into pale walls and becomes an architectural line more than an object. In Bronzed Steel it stands out with a darker, metallic look that adds a clear vertical feature to a plain wall. Pick the finish that fits the wall behind it, since you see so much of it.

How it works

An 8.5W integrated LED at 2700K is built in and gives around 500 lumens of warm white light, so there are no bulbs to buy. That makes the output soft for such a tall fitting, so think of it as a glow rather than a bright light. We do not have dimming details for this version, so please ask us if you need to dim it. It is wall mounted, and at around 10kg the wall fixing should be checked by the installer. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.

Where it works best

Use it where the height can be seen, such as a double height entrance, a staircase wall or a long hallway wall. Two either side of a doorway or a large mirror also look good. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The story behind Tooy

Tooy began in 2015, when Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei launched it in Italy's Marche region as a spin off from Gibas. Gibas is the Giacomozzi family lighting company, which has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Since 2017 Corrado Dotti has been creative director, and Tooy lamps are made in Italy. Marco Casamonti, an architect and professor who leads Archea Associati, designed the Structure collection.
