A Twenty Five Light Grid Chandelier, Over a Metre Square
The Tooy Quadrante 25 Light Chandelier is designed by Roberto Giacomucci and is the largest in the range, a wide black grid of welded steel pipes carrying twenty five bulbs. It is also a genuinely big fitting: it measures approximately 121cm by 121cm and 12cm high, before the cable is added. It is a statement chandelier for large dining rooms, open plan spaces and double height halls.
Matte Black Powder Coat
This chandelier comes in a single finish, Matte Black. At this scale the steel pipes create a bold, regular pattern, with the bulbs sitting at the crossings like a field of small lights. It is dark, crisp and very architectural, so it needs a room with some space to let it show.
How it works
Twenty five G9 lamp holders each take a bulb of up to 4W LED, and bulbs are not supplied. The largest bulb that fits is about 1.8cm across and 5.7cm high. It is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used. It hangs from a 125cm steel cable, with a 150cm black electric cable and a 13cm canopy and bracket included. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
Hang it over a large dining table or the centre of a big living room, or use it as a feature in a wide entrance hall. Twenty five small bulbs give generous, even light with a lot of sparkle. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Tooy was founded in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei in Italy's Marche region, as a spin off from Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959.
