TOOY OSMAN Pendant Light

A Small Glass Pendant on a Long Black Cable

The Tooy Osman Pendant Light is designed by Corrado Dotti and is the smallest way into the Osman range. A single double wall glass cylinder, approximately 8cm across and 23cm high, hangs from a 150cm black fabric cable. It works well as a bedside pendant light, a pair over a console, or a small cluster at different heights.

Brass or Chrome, Clear or Smoke

The metalwork is Matte Black, with either Brushed Brass or Black Chrome detailing. Clear Glass keeps the look light and bright, and Smoke Glass gives a softer, shadowier tone. Brass with clear glass feels warm and classic, whereas black chrome with smoke glass is quieter and more modern.

How it works

One E14 lamp holder takes a bulb of up to 8W LED, and the bulb is not supplied. The largest bulb that fits is about 3cm across. It is dimmable if a dimmable bulb is used. The 150cm black fabric cable has an on/off switch about 50cm from the base. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.

Where it works best

Use it either side of a bed in place of table lamps, over a bedside table, at the end of a hallway or in a reading corner. Because the fitting is so small, it is easy to group several together at different heights. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The story behind Tooy

Tooy was founded in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei in Italy's Marche region. It grew out of Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti, who designed Osman, trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, and he has been creative director at Tooy since 2017. The brand's lamps are made in Italy.
