A Small Fabric Pendant with a Soft Glow

The Tooy Lilly small suspension pendant is designed by Corrado Dotti and draws on the restraint and minimalism of Asian design. It is a small shade, about 22cm across and 15cm high, hung from a 150cm cable. The fabric and mesh diffuser softens the light into something gentle, which makes it a good small pendant for a bedside, a hallway or a pair over a breakfast bar.

Beige Fabric, Black Net, Sand Black Frame

There is one finish. A Sand Black powder coated metal frame holds a beige fabric shade overlaid with a fine black net. From a distance it reads as a quiet, natural tone with a graphic edge. Lit, the fabric glows warmly through the mesh.

How it works

The pendant takes one E27 bulb of up to 15W. Bulbs are not supplied. It is dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb and use a compatible dimmer. It hangs from a ceiling fixing on a 150cm fabric cable. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.

Where it works best

Because it is light and small, it suits low key spaces such as bedrooms, landings, reading corners and narrow hallways. Hang a few at varied heights for a relaxed cluster. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The story behind Tooy

Tooy was founded in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei in Italy's Marche region. It began as a spin off from Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, has been creative director since 2017. The brand's lamps are made in Italy.
