TOOY Legier Table Lamp - 26cm

A table lamp is one of the most intimate objects in a room. It sits at eye level, close to where you read, talk and rest, and the quality of the light it produces and the character of the object producing it are things you live with in a way that ceiling fittings rarely demand. The Legier table lamp in the 26cm size by Corrado Dotti for Tooy approaches that intimacy with all the material intelligence and formal care that the collection as a whole embodies.

The hand blown glass diffuser — in opal white or fumè — sits atop a sand black powder coated metal base, the rounded form of the glass bringing the Murano inspired softness of the Legier collection to a surface level where it can be properly appreciated. At 26cm it is a compact and considered presence — substantial enough to fill a bedside table or a desk with warm, enveloping light, restrained enough not to overwhelm a carefully arranged surface.

Opal white glass at this scale produces a light that is warm, soft and completely without harshness — the kind of bedside light that makes the transition from day to night feel natural and unhurried. Fumè glass is more considered and atmospheric, the tinted diffuser reducing the light output to something closer to candlelight in its quality — intimate, warm and thoroughly flattering to both the space and the people in it.

The ring detail in either light grey or brushed brass introduces the same thoughtful material accent found across the Legier range. The brushed brass option, at the close range of a table lamp, has a warmth and richness that makes it a particularly compelling choice — the metal detail catching the light from the glass above it and creating a small but genuinely satisfying moment of material quality.
