Duccio Maria Gambi is a Florence based designer whose practice sits at the intersection of art and design, and whose work consistently returns to the relationship between structure, material and time. Igor is a clear expression of that sensibility. The form is rooted in sophisticated geometry — nothing is arbitrary, nothing is decorative, and the result is a fitting that rewards the spaces it inhabits with a quality of considered presence that accumulates rather than announces itself.

The vertical orientation gives this version of Igor a strong axial quality, drawing the eye downward from the ceiling rose along the length of the fitting and anchoring the space below it with a precision that horizontal forms cannot achieve in the same way.
