TOOY Filipa Table Lamp

A Glass Lantern Table Lamp for Bedside or Sideboard

The Tooy Filipa Table Lamp is designed by Corrado Dotti and carries the collection's Chinese lantern inspiration down to table height. A 16cm glass diffuser sits in an open metal frame approximately 28cm wide, 15cm deep and 45cm high. It is a small, soft bedside table lamp that also works on a sideboard, a desk or a console.

Sand Black with Sand Grey or Two Tone Leather

Sand Black with Sand Grey keeps things minimal, with two quiet matt tones. Sand Black with Two Tone Leather brings in a leather detail that warms up the frame and suits a bedroom or a study. The glass diffuser itself is the same in both.

How it works

A G9 lamp holder takes a bulb of up to 5W, which is not supplied. The lamp has a 150cm black fabric cable with an on and off switch on the cable, 50cm from the base, with no built in dimmer, so the lamp is not dimmable as supplied. The manufacturer lists a dimmer version on request, so please ask us before ordering if you need to dim this lamp. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.

Where it works best

Use it where you want gentle, local light: beside a bed, at the end of a sofa or on a hallway console. Its slim footprint leaves room for books and a glass of water. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The story behind Tooy

Italy's Marche region is home to Tooy, which Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei founded in 2015. It began as a spin off from Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company, which has made tailor made lighting there since 1959. The Filipa collection is by Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, and who has been creative director since 2017. The brand's lamps are made in Italy.
