A Slender Art Deco Pendant With a Prism Core
The Tooy Excalibur Suspension Pendant Light is designed by Corrado Dotti and shows his Art Deco influence in a single, slim form. Luminous prisms sit inside a narrow metal frame that is approximately 12cm across and 45cm high, hung from a 150cm black fabric cable. It is a good choice as a single hallway pendant light or, in a row, over a bar or console.
Two Finish Combinations
Sand Black with Brushed Brass gives a dark, graphic body with brass lines running through it. Bronze with Satin Titanium is quieter and more blended. If you plan to hang several together, either finish repeats well without looking busy.
How it works
The pendant takes one E27 bulb of up to 15W, not supplied. The largest bulb that fits is about 6.5cm across and 12cm high. It is dimmable if a dimmable bulb is used. It hangs from a ceiling fixing on the 150cm cable. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
The narrow shape suits stairwells, hallways, bedsides and the space above a breakfast bar. Hang two or three at different heights for a more sculptural effect. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Italy's Marche region is where Tooy began in 2015, founded by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei as a spin off from Gibas. Gibas is the Giacomozzi family lighting company, making tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, has been creative director since 2017. The brand's lamps are made in Italy.
