TOOY Excalibur Suspension Pendant Light

The Excalibur suspension pendant is one of those rare fittings that manages to feel both of its time and entirely timeless. Designed by Corrado Dotti for Tooy, it carries a subtle Art Deco influence — not as pastiche, but as a quiet structural logic that gives the fitting its distinctive character. A slender vertical stem drops from the ceiling rose and opens into a precisely formed diffuser, the geometry clean and assured, the proportions considered from every angle.

The light it produces is soft and omnidirectional, emanating from the diffuser in a way that fills a room with warmth rather than directing attention at a single point. This makes it a versatile choice — equally at home above a dining table, in a hallway, or as a single accent in a sitting room where the quality of ambient light matters as much as the object producing it.

Available in two finish combinations, sand black with brushed brass or bronze with satin titanium, the Excalibur pendant offers a genuine choice of character. The sand black and brushed brass pairing is bold and considered, working beautifully in contemporary interiors where contrast and material detail are valued. The bronze and satin titanium combination is softer and more tonal, lending itself to warmer, more layered interior schemes.

Every Excalibur fitting is made to order in Tooy's workshop in the Marche region of central Italy, a part of the country with a deep tradition of precision craft. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and Partners and Armani Casa before establishing his own studio, brings a design language of refined geometry and material intelligence to everything he produces for Tooy. The Excalibur is a clear expression of that sensibility — a fitting with genuine presence that earns its place in a room without demanding it.
