TOOY Excalibur 3 Light Chandelier

A Compact Art Deco Chandelier With Three Lights

The Tooy Excalibur 3 Light Chandelier is designed by Corrado Dotti and draws on Art Deco, with luminous prisms held inside a sculptural metal frame. At approximately 38cm across and 45cm high it is a small chandelier, so it suits a modest dining table, a landing, a bedroom or a hallway where a full size statement chandelier would be too much.

Two Finish Combinations

Sand Black with Brushed Brass is the sharper pairing, with a dark matt frame set against warm metal detailing. Bronze with Satin Titanium is softer and more tonal, because the two metals sit close together in colour. Both are powder coated metal.

How it works

Three E27 lamp holders each take a bulb of up to 15W. Bulbs are not supplied, and the largest bulb that fits is about 6.5cm across and 12cm high. The chandelier is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used. It hangs from a 125cm cable. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.

Where it works best

This small chandelier suits rooms with a normal ceiling height, such as over a round dining table, in a hallway or above a bedroom seating area. With three lights it gives a gentle, layered glow rather than a floodlit room. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The story behind Tooy

Tooy was founded in 2015 in Italy's Marche region by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei. It began as a spin off from Gibas, the family lighting company that the Giacomozzis have run since 1959, making tailor made lighting in Marche. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, has been Tooy's creative director since 2017. The brand's lamps are made in Italy.
