TOOY Bilancella Pendant Light - 40cm

Roberto Giacomucci's Bilancella collection began with a single question: what is a lamp when you remove everything that is not essential? The 40cm pendant is the answer made physical. A slim powder coated metal bar, precisely weighted, holds a single light source at its tip and hangs from the ceiling with a composure that very few objects achieve. There is no shade, no embellishment, no gesture toward decoration. There is only the line, the light, and the space between them.

At 40cm the Bilancella carries more presence than its smaller sibling without sacrificing any of its restraint. It becomes a genuine centrepiece above a dining table, a statement over a kitchen island, or a considered accent in a double height space where scale matters. The extended arm means the light source sits further from the ceiling rose, giving the fitting a more pronounced horizontal quality — a characteristic that makes it particularly effective when hung in pairs or in a linear series above a long surface.

The quality of light this fitting produces is direct and warm, falling in a clean pool that defines the surface or object below it rather than flooding the room. It is the kind of light that makes a table feel like a destination and a conversation feel unhurried.

Available in sand black or satin bronze, both finishes are applied with the precision you would expect from a fitting made in Tooy's workshop in Amandola, in the Fermo province of the Marche. Sand black brings a clean graphic quality to the fitting, working beautifully in contemporary and industrial influenced interiors. Satin bronze introduces warmth and a quiet luxury that suits both modern and more traditional residential settings.

Tooy's founding in 2015 drew directly on the Giacomozzi family's sixty year history of making lighting in Italy — a lineage that runs through every component of the Bilancella and makes itself felt in the weight, the finish and the quiet authority of the piece.
