A Slim Round LED Pendant on an 800cm Cable
The Tooy Bilancella 40cm pendant light is designed by Roberto Giacomucci and built around one idea: take a light fitting back to its most essential shape. This is a flat, round LED pendant approximately 52cm across and just 2.5cm deep, and it comes with an 800cm black fabric cable, so it suits high ceilings, stairwells and double height spaces where a standard drop would fall short. The light is warm and directed downward, which makes it a good black pendant light for a long dining table or a kitchen island.
Sand Black or Satin Bronze Powder Coat
The body is powder coated metal with a thin metal diffuser. Sand Black is deep and quiet, and it sits well against pale plaster, concrete and oak. Satin Bronze has more warmth in it, and it picks up the glow of the light when the pendant is switched on. Whichever you choose, the fitting stays slim and graphic from below.
How it works
The light source is built in. It is a 40W integrated LED at 2700K, giving around 3200 lumens of warm white light, and it is dimmable. You do not need to buy bulbs. The cable is designed so the light can be positioned where you want it, and three ceiling attachments are supplied. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
Choose the Bilancella where the ceiling is high or the drop is long, such as above a staircase, over a generous dining table or in a double height hallway. It is also a neat option for a living room or bedroom if you like a clean, flat shape overhead. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Tooy began in 2015 in Italy's Marche region, started by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei as a spin off from Gibas. Gibas is the Giacomozzi family lighting company, which has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti has led the brand creatively since 2017, and its lamps are made in Italy.
