Stone Globe Spherical Garden Light - Granite - Solar

A Solar Stone Effect Globe for Gardens Without Mains Power

The Stone Globe Spherical Garden Light in granite is a solar powered garden globe light with a rough, stone effect surface. It comes in three sizes, 28cm, 38cm and 50cm in diameter, and is moulded from polyethylene and rated IP65. A small separate solar panel charges the light by day, so there is no mains cable to run and no transformer to buy. It suits anyone looking for a stone effect outdoor light that goes where the sun, rather than a socket, allows.

Granite Finish, Solar Version

This version has a grey, speckled granite look. The surface is deliberately rough and, according to the manufacturer, weathers naturally over time. In daylight it sits in a border or on a path like a garden ornament, and at night it glows softly from within. Stone Globe also makes the same globe in mains, low voltage and plug and play versions, so check you are choosing the solar one if you want no cabling to the house.

How It Works

The globe has an integrated LED. A small solar panel is placed in a sunny spot, connected to the globe by a cable, and charges the light during the day. Place the panel in a sunny spot within reach of its cable. No electrician is needed for this solar version. The globe comes with a mounting bracket for secure attachment, and an optional ground spike is available. The finish is polyethylene, with IP65 protection against dust and water jets. Because the globes are portable, they are easy to move around the garden.

Where It Works Best

The manufacturer suggests these globes for driveway and path lighting, and for creating a warm atmosphere on alfresco evenings. They also look at home in borders, among planting, and beside patio seating, as long as the solar panel can be placed in a sunny position.
