Stilnovo Saliscendi Pendant - Ruby Red

The Stilnovo Saliscendi Pendant in Ruby Red is a rise and fall ceiling light whose glossy lacquered metal body and matching reflective disc move along a pair of cables, travelling apart for a wider spread of light or drawing close together for a tighter, more direct pool over a table.

Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed the Saliscendi in 1957, and the first two examples were built the following year for the Milan Chamber of Commerce; this reissue keeps that same handle-operated mechanism, now updated with a dimmable LED source. A metal wire casing and acetal resin pulleys keep the lift and lower action smooth, while black cables and conductors stay out of sight. The two-tone PMMA parabolic diffuser is white inside for an even glow and lacquered to match the ruby red body outside. Stilnovo, founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, still builds to a standard that sits comfortably alongside houses like Flos and Artemide.

Fitted with a 36W integrated LED and DALI push dimming, it suits a kitchen island as readily as a dining table, pulled low and bright for task light or raised and dimmed for evening. As each piece is made to order, please confirm your specification carefully, since we're unable to accept returns once production is under way.
