Stilnovo Saliscendi Pendant - Light Grey

The Stilnovo Saliscendi Pendant in Light Grey is a rise and fall pendant light finished in a glossy grey and white lacquer, with a luminous metal body and a reflective disc that glide in opposite directions along exposed cables to open up or narrow the spread of light.

First conceived by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1957, with two originals built for the Milan Chamber of Commerce the following year, the Saliscendi has since been re-engineered with a dimmable LED source while its handle-and-pulley action remains unchanged: a metal wire casing and acetal resin pulleys let you raise or lower the fitting smoothly, and black cables and conductors carry the current out of view. Inside, the PMMA parabolic diffuser stays white for softness, with its exterior finished to match this grey and white colourway.

Revived in 2019 by Linea Light Group after production paused in the early 1990s, Stilnovo continues to reissue its historic designs with the same engineering-led approach that made its name. With a 36W integrated LED on DALI push dimming, this pendant reads equally well over a kitchen island or centred above a dining table, and suits a stairwell too, where a rise and fall fitting can be set at just the right height. Being made to order, it's produced to your specification and can't be returned once work has begun; we'd recommend having it fitted by a registered NICEIC electrician.
