Stilnovo Minitopo Table Lamp - Iconic Red

Finished entirely in a confident red, the Stilnovo Minitopo Table Lamp is a metal desk lamp by the Italian designer Joe Colombo, supplied with a 7W E27 LED bulb ready to fit.

Red was always the natural colourway for this design, its saturated shade making the most of the slitted vents that run around the shade, a detail Colombo borrowed from the cooling vents of 1960s sports cars. There's a playful side to the shape too: the rounded shade mirrors the bulb sitting inside it, rather like a small engine tucked into its housing, and the whole silhouette has more than a passing resemblance to a mouse, or topo in Italian. Nudge the little handle on the reflector, standing in for the mouse's tail, and the light swings smoothly to wherever it's needed.

It's built from solid metal with real heft and precision in the joints, and suits a desk, console, or side table in an office or study setting rather better than a bedside spot. Because this colourway is produced to order, it can't be returned once the order is placed, so do check the dimensions suit your space first.
