A fresher edge on a classic silhouette
Set against a chrome body, the green shade on this Minitopo Table Lamp gives Joe Colombo's Italian design a fresher, more contemporary edge, fitted for a 7W E27 LED bulb supplied in the box.
Chrome and green finish
Look at the shade from the side and you'll see the slits that run along it, styled after the cooling vents on 1960s sports cars. Its rounded profile was drawn deliberately around the shape of the E27 bulb it holds, and together with two small ears at the top it's easy to see how the design earned its nickname, minitopo, Italian for little mouse.
How it works
Its tail, so to speak, is the handle on the reflector, which tilts the light with a light touch of the hand.
Where it works best
It's built for a desk or worktop and suits an office or study far better than a bedroom setting.

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and this Joe Colombo design has stayed in the catalogue for its combination of humour and genuine usefulness.
