The Minitopo Table Lamp in Chrome and Flame Red is a metal table lamp designed by Joe Colombo, combining a polished chrome body with a bold flame red shade, and taking a 7W E27 LED bulb supplied as standard.

Chrome and flame red

Colombo took his cue from the sleek air vents of 1960s sports cars when he cut the slits along the shade, and the effect still reads as pure motion today. Look closer and the shade echoes the shape of the bulb inside it, like a small engine housed in its own casing, which is exactly how this lamp earned its name, minitopo, or little mouse.

How it works

The handle on the reflector stands in for the mouse's tail, and it's genuinely useful, letting you tilt the light exactly where you need it. A 7W E27 LED bulb is supplied.

Where it works best

It earns its keep on a desk or console table in a home office or study, throwing a confident pool of light without taking up much room.

The story behind Stilnovo

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and later worked with designers like Joe Colombo to bring pieces such as Minitopo into the collection.
