The Minibox Wall Light in Coffee is the wall mounted version of Stilnovo's Minibox design by Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni, a compact metal fixture whose head detaches magnetically so it can be repositioned at will.

Coffee finish

Coffee is a rich, bronzed brown that reads as warm rather than dark, bringing out the sculptural quality of the design, especially the rounded metal body and the small illuminated eye that gives Minibox its miner's lamp character.

How it works

It takes a 10W integrated PowerLED and is controlled through phase cut dimming, so it needs a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit rather than a standard switch.

Where it works best

Mounted beside a bed it becomes a proper reading light thanks to the adjustable head, and it's just as at home lighting a hallway, office or dining room wall.

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and this fixture looks equally considered whether mounted alone or in a pair.
