Stilnovo Minibox Wall Light - Black

Engineering dressed up as something simple

The Minibox Wall Light in Black is a wall mounted version of Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni's Stilnovo design, its metal head held in place by magnets so it can be lifted off and pointed in a new direction whenever you like.

Black finish

The small glowing eye set into the black metal casing nods to old miner's lamps, and the compact scale means it reads as a sharp graphic accent on a wall. Matte black gives it a more architectural, understated feel than the brighter colourways.

How it works

It houses a 10W integrated PowerLED and works with phase cut dimming, so it needs to be wired to a compatible dimmer switch rather than a standard on off circuit.

Where it works best

It makes a genuinely flexible reading light beside a bed or an armchair, and works just as well lighting a hallway, dining room or office wall.

The story behind Stilnovo

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and Minibox carries that founding instinct for treating a light fitting as a piece of considered engineering.
