Stilnovo Minibox Wall Light - Black

The Stilnovo Minibox Wall Light in Black is a wall mounted version of Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni's Stilnovo design, its metal head held in place by magnets so it can be lifted off and pointed in a new direction whenever you like.

It's a clever piece of engineering dressed up as a simple one: the small glowing eye set into the black metal casing nods to old miner's lamps, and the compact scale means it reads as a sharp graphic accent on a wall rather than a large fixture. Matte black gives it a slightly more architectural, understated feel than the brighter colourways in the range, which suits period hallways and contemporary interiors alike.

Built from metal with a PMMA lens, it houses a 10W integrated PowerLED and works with phase cut dimming, so it needs to be wired to a compatible dimmer switch rather than a standard on-off circuit. That makes it a genuinely flexible reading light beside a bed or an armchair, and equally at home lighting a hallway, dining room or office wall where directional light earns its keep.

As with the rest of the collection, this piece is made to order, which means we can't take it back once it's been produced, so it's worth confirming the finish and fixing details in advance. We'd always recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
