Stilnovo Galassia 6 Light Floor Lamp - Gold, White Glass & Marble Base

The Stilnovo Galassia 6 Light Floor Lamp is a freestanding piece standing 1918mm tall on a 300mm diameter marble base, its brass stem finished in galvanic gilding and topped with six white triplex blown glass spheres, each lit by a 6W E14 LED bulb supplied as standard.

It carries the same spirit as the rest of the Galassia family, a design rooted in the buoyant confidence of 1950s Italy, when Stilnovo, founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, was busy proving that a light fitting could be handled with the same rigour as a piece of architecture. That founding idea, that engineering and art belong together, is still visible in the way this lamp's cluster of glass globes catches and scatters light across a room.

As a floor lamp it earns its keep beside a sofa or armchair in the living room, at the foot of a bed, in a quiet dining corner, or standing in a hallway where its glow can be enjoyed from several angles rather than viewed flat against a wall or ceiling. The marble base grounds the piece both visually and literally, giving real weight and stability to a fitting with genuine presence.
