A dome that seems to vanish when it's off

The Demi Moon is a floor standing lamp that carries the Demi collection's semi spherical, laser engraved PMMA dome on a tall, sculptural aluminium frame finished in black.

Black finish

Designed by Mirco Crosatto, the dome's curve nods to the Pantheon. A slim central ring hidden within the frame houses the light source, while Stilnovo's OptiLight Technology spreads that single point of light evenly across the whole surface of the dome. Switched off, the shade sits almost transparent; switched on, it becomes a softly glowing sphere, the effect Stilnovo calls its transformative optic.

How it works

Built in aluminium with a push dimming function, so brightness can be adjusted at the lamp itself.

Where it works best

It brings soft, ambient light to a living room corner, a bedroom reading spot, a hallway, or a home office, without the glare of a conventional shade.

The story behind Stilnovo

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and continues to work with contemporary designers like Mirco Crosatto to push its lighting technology forward.
