A Sensor Wall Light with a Built In House Number
The Steinel L 820 SC in anthracite is an outdoor LED wall light with a motion sensor and a frosted panel carrying your house number. It gives 679 lumens from 9.8W at 3000K warm white, and lights both up and down the wall. The sensor covers 160 degrees with a reach of 5 metres, so it works as a tidy security light for a front door or the front of a house. You can also set it up and control it from the free Steinel Connect app over Bluetooth.
Anthracite Aluminium with an Opal Panel
The body is aluminium in a dark anthracite finish with a fine textured surface, set off by an opal plastic panel on top. The house number panel stands up from the body, and number stickers are shown in the product photos so you can choose your own. The sensor sits in a curved section under the body, where it stays out of sight. Steinel calls it an invisible high frequency sensor.
How It Works
The sensor uses Steinel's intelligent high frequency technology rather than a visible infrared lens. It detects movement within 160 degrees and a reach of 5 metres. The light starts up softly, and you can leave it on continuously for 4 hours with the manual override. Brightness, timing and twilight settings are adjusted through the app, and several Steinel Bluetooth lights can be linked together using Bluetooth Mesh. The sensor works best at a mounting height of 1.8 to 2.5 metres, with 2 metres ideal. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where It Works Best
This light suits a front door, building entrance or the front of a house, where the house number panel is useful at night. It mounts on a wall with surface wiring and is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction.
