A Classic Sensor Wall Light in Stainless Steel
The Steinel L 260 is an outdoor LED security light with a built in motion sensor, a slim opal glass shade and a brushed stainless steel housing. It gives 700 lumens at 3000K warm white from an 8.6W lamp. The sensor covers 240 degrees with a reach of 12 metres, which makes it a good outdoor sensor wall light for entrances, patios and the sides of a house.
Silver Stainless Steel with Opal Glass
This version is the silver finish. The housing and wall bracket are brushed stainless steel, and the sensor head sits at the bottom of the unit. The tall cylindrical shade is opal glass, so the light is soft and even rather than harsh.
How It Works
A passive infrared sensor detects movement and switches the light on. You set how long it stays on, from 5 seconds up to 15 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, from 2 to 2000 lux, using the dials on the unit. There is also a selectable 4 hour constant light setting. The sensor is designed for a mounting height of 1.8 to 6 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The light takes an E27 lamp, so it can be replaced when the time comes. It runs from a 230 to 240V mains supply and is a Class I fitting. Steinel suggests it for the front door, a terrace or balcony, a courtyard, a driveway and all round the building. It mounts on a wall with surface wiring. It is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction, and IK03 for impact.
