A Slim Vertical Sensor Light for Entrances
The Steinel L 240 S in stainless steel is a slimline, rectangular outdoor wall light with a built in motion sensor. It switches on when someone approaches and off again after a time you set, which makes it a neat LED security light for a front door, garage or side gate. It gives 946 lumens from 9.3W, and the sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of 10 metres.
Stainless Steel Finish with an Opal Diffuser
This version has a brushed stainless steel finish on the top and bottom of the housing, which frames a tall opal diffuser. The sensor head sits below the diffuser and swivels to point where you need it.
How It Works
A passive infrared sensor picks up movement and switches the light on. You set how long it stays on, from 8 seconds up to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, from 2 to 2000 lux, with the potentiometer dials on the unit. The sensor works at a mounting height of 1.8 to 3 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The LED is an integrated Steinel system at 3000K warm white with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. It is rated IP44 and IK07. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Does the L 240 S switch on by itself? Yes. Its infrared sensor detects movement within a 180 degree area and a reach of 10 metres, and switches the light on automatically.
