A Classic Lantern Wall Light for Doorways
The Steinel L 15 M in black is a traditional outdoor wall lantern with no sensor. It is switched on and off by hand from a wall switch, so it is an ordinary, predictable outdoor wall light for building fronts and entrances. It takes a standard E27 bulb, and the bulb is not included.
Black Finish with Clear Glass
The lantern has a four sided black frame with a pointed finial on top, and clear glass panes that let you see the bulb inside. The black plastic wall bracket and lower stem match the frame. If you prefer a lighter look, Steinel also makes this model in white as a separate product.
How It Works
There is no motion sensor or twilight switch, so the light works whenever it is switched on. It runs from a 230 to 240V, 50Hz mains supply and takes an E27 bulb up to 60W. It is a Class II fitting, rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction, and it has an impact rating of IK03. Steinel gives a mounting height of up to 3 metres. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where It Works Best
Steinel suggests it for the front door and all round the building, as well as a terrace, balcony, courtyard or driveway. It is fixed to a wall with surface wiring, and the upright lantern shape suits a porch, a pillared entrance or a house front.
