Steinel L 115 S Classic Globe Wall light with 240 degree PIR - Anthracite

A Classic Globe Wall Light That Switches Itself On

The Steinel L 115 S is an outdoor sensor wall light with a clear glass globe on an anthracite housing. A built in motion sensor covers 240 degrees with a reach of up to 12 metres, so it works as an outdoor security light for building fronts and entrances while still looking like a traditional lantern. It is a sizeable fitting at 330mm high, so check the space before ordering.

Anthracite Housing and Clear Glass

The wall plate, body and sensor head are finished in dark anthracite plastic, which sits well against render, brick or dark cladding. The globe is clear transparent glass, so the bulb is visible and the light it gives off is whatever you choose to fit. The bulb is not included, and Steinel suggests a decorative filament bulb for a classic look.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor below the globe picks up movement and switches the light on. Two dials let you set how long it stays on, from 5 seconds to 15 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, so it stays off in daylight. A basic light function can keep a low level of light on, and can be set to run for 4 hours. The sensor works at a mounting height of 1.8 to 6 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The fitting takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and runs from a 230 to 240V mains supply. It is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where It Works Best

Steinel suggests it for the front door, all round the building, a terrace or balcony, and a courtyard or driveway. It fixes to a wall with surface wiring, and it is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction.
