Rather than glowing from the top like a lamp, the Rusty Slot 50 releases its light through a narrow cut in the steel, so the fitting itself stays a quiet dark column by day and becomes a soft line of light after dark. It is a marker rather than a floodlight, built to be noticed in the way it is lit rather than how brightly.

The Slot sits apart from the round Rusty and square Rusty Square profiles because it radiates indirectly through its slot rather than from an open top. At 50cm it is the shorter of the two Slot heights sold alongside the 80cm version, so it suits lower planting and tighter borders where a taller column would compete with what is growing around it.
How It Works
The body is FeCSi steel, chemically treated to develop a genuine rust patina, classed Safety Class I. An integrated 8.6W LED (3000K warm white, CRI80) sits behind the slot, producing a deliberately low level wash rather than a bright beam, since the fitting is designed to define an edge rather than light a whole area. It carries an IP55 rating and runs from mains voltage, sitting on the surface as standard with an earth spike available separately for softer ground.

Does it come with an earth spike, or does it just sit on top of the ground? It sits on the surface as standard, and a separate earth spike stake is available if you want it held more firmly in softer soil.
Is the light source something I can replace later? The LED is integrated into the body, so there is no lamp to swap out, though the fitting itself carries a 5 year guarantee from SLV for peace of mind.
