An Open Frame That Plays With Light And Shadow
Where most wall lights hide their workings behind a solid shade, Bookat leaves a square opening at its centre so the light itself becomes the feature. A recessed panel glows from inside an anthracite aluminium frame, throwing soft light both above and below on the wall it sits against. It reads as considered rather than decorative, which is why SLV describes it as an unusual take on the classic outdoor wall light.
Pairs With The Pole Version
This wall mounted Bookat shares its finish, its light output and its CCT switching with the free standing Bookat pole lamp, so the two can be specified together along a boundary, up a set of steps or across a facade without any visible difference in colour or brightness.
How It Works
A 15W LED engine delivers 920 lumens at 3000K or 990 lumens at 4000K, with the colour temperature set by a small CCT switch mounted on the terminal block behind the cover plate. This is a one time choice made during installation rather than something you flick between afterwards. The fitting has an open cable end, so it connects directly into the wiring behind it rather than needing a plug socket.
Where It Works Best
The square open design gives Bookat a stronger up and down light spread than a flat backplate fitting, which makes it well suited to porches, garage walls and the sides of an entrance where you want the wall itself to be part of the effect. With an IP65 rating it is built to be left outside in all weather.
