A Glass Globe With a Colour Fade

The Ombre pendant is built around a single glass globe that fades from a rich colour at the top to clear glass at the bottom, so the light itself seems to grow softer as it reaches the room. It's a striking, sculptural shape that works as well on its own as it does grouped with others.

This version fades from a deep ruby red at the neck of the globe through to clear glass at its widest point. A latte toned metal rod and lamp holder sit above the glass, a soft neutral that keeps the focus on the colour of the globe rather than competing with it. It suits bedrooms and living spaces where you want a considered pop of colour.

How It Works

• Takes 1 x GU10 bulb, around 5W LED (50W halogen equivalent), not supplied
• The GU10 spotlight sits inside the neck of the globe and points down through the glass
• Works with a dimmer switch when fitted with a dimmable LED bulb
• Fixed drop rod; overall height from ceiling to the base of the globe is around 120cm
• Ceiling mounted and hardwired; installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician

Where It Works Best

At 30cm across, a single Ombre pendant makes a good bedside or reading light when hung beside a bed or armchair. Grouped in twos or threes at staggered heights, it also works well over a dining table or in a commercial setting such as a restaurant or bar, where the colour fade becomes a real feature.
