The Newton Square is a small, sharp edged cube of a wall light that throws its glow up and down a wall rather than out into the room. There is no shade or diffuser to look at, just a clean block shape that reads as architecture as much as lighting. It suits anyone who wants a modern accent light without a fussy fitting on show.
This Version: Sand White
This Newton Square is finished in an anodised sand white over a body of ceramic and aluminium. The anodised coating gives it a slightly harder, more durable surface than a standard painted white, and it sits cleanly against light walls without breaking up the paintwork. It suits Scandinavian, minimalist, and other pale, neutral schemes where the fitting should read as part of the wall.
How It Works
- Takes 1 x G9 LED bulb, 5W (bulb not supplied)
- Light spreads upward and downward through two angled slots cut into the top and bottom faces of the cube
- Dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable G9 LED bulb
- Hardwired fitting, Class I electrical rating, requires professional installation
- Wall mounted with a compact 9.7cm cube profile
Where It Works Best
The Newton Square in white suits hallways, landings, and staircases where a slim wall light can mark a turn or break up a long run of wall. It also works well flanking a doorway in pairs, or as a discreet, low level accent in a living room, dining room, or bedroom decorated in white or pale tones.
Good to Know
- Rated IP20, for indoor dry locations only
- Comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty
- Standard Moonlight Design returns policy applies
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the anodised finish
Questions People Ask
Does the white Newton Square light up both the wall above and below it?
Yes. The design has two open slots, one on the top face and one on the bottom, so it casts light upward and downward at the same time from a single bulb.
What bulb does the Newton Square White take?
It takes one G9 LED bulb rated at 5W. The bulb is not included, so you will need to buy one separately.
Can I use this light in a bathroom?
No. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it is designed for dry indoor rooms only and is not suitable for bathrooms or other areas with moisture.
Will the white finish show marks easily?
The anodised coating is harder wearing than a standard paint finish and resists corrosion well, though like any pale surface it is worth keeping away from greasy fingerprints near light switches or door frames.
