The Searchlight Mela is a stainless steel outdoor wall bracket with a built in PIR motion sensor, designed to light up driveways and entrances automatically as soon as it detects movement.
Materials and Finish
The body is made from stainless steel, giving it a clean, modern look that resists corrosion outdoors.
How It Works
It takes GU10 LED bulbs, not included, and is not dimmable. The built in motion sensor switches the light on when it detects movement nearby, then off again after a short delay. As a Class I fitting it must be earthed, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

What bulb does the Mela take?
A GU10 LED bulb, not included, so you can choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the space.
How sensitive is the motion sensor?
It responds to movement within its detection range and switches the light on automatically, then off again once movement stops. Sensitivity and timing can usually be adjusted on the sensor itself.
Can it be fitted next to an existing outdoor socket?
It should be wired in by a qualified electrician as a permanent fixture rather than plugged into a socket, since it is a mains fitting.
Is it suitable for a covered side passage?
Yes, at IP44 it copes well with sheltered outdoor spots such as passages and porches, though it shouldn't be submerged or face direct heavy rain.
