An Outdoor Wall Light That Switches Itself On
The Searchlight Mela is a modern up and down wall light for outdoors, finished in silk black with a built in motion sensor that switches the light on as soon as it detects movement nearby.
Materials and Finish
The body is made from stainless steel, finished in a silk black coating, with a clear lens over each light so the GU10 LED bulb underneath is visible rather than hidden behind a shade.
How It Works
It takes GU10 LED bulbs, not included, and is not dimmable. The integrated motion sensor triggers the light automatically as someone approaches, which is handy for porches, driveways and side passages where you do not want to be fumbling for a switch. This should always be installed by a qualified electrician. It is a Class I fixture, which means it must also be properly earthed as part of that installation.
Where It Works Best
With an IP44 rating and a motion sensor built in, the Mela is designed for sheltered outdoor spots such as beside a front door, over a porch or along a driveway, where it can light your way automatically as you arrive.
