A Gesture Controlled Ring Pendant for Smaller Kitchens and Dining Spaces
The Searchlight Lance 440mm Gesture Control Pendant is a compact ring shaped pendant in black metal with an opal acrylic diffuser. It brings smart, tuneable lighting to a smaller kitchen or dining space, and you control it with a simple hand gesture instead of a switch.

How It Works
It has an integrated LED, rated at 28.65W and putting out up to 551 lumens, that is colour switchable between 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. Rather than a conventional switch or dimmer, it is controlled and dimmed by gesture control, so you can turn it on, dim it and cycle through the colour temperatures with a wave of your hand near the fitting. As a Class II double insulated fixture it does not need an earth connection. It should still be installed by a qualified electrician, as with any hardwired ceiling fitting. The height is adjustable, with a maximum drop of 190cm from the ceiling.
Where It Works Best
Suits kitchens, dining rooms and home offices, particularly above a smaller table, island end or desk, where its 44cm diameter ring sits neatly without overwhelming the space.

How does the gesture control work?
Instead of a wall switch, you turn the light on and off, dim it and cycle through the colour temperatures by waving your hand near the fitting.
Can I change the colour temperature?
Yes. The integrated LED is colour switchable between 2700K warm white, 3000K soft white and 4000K cool white, selected using the gesture control.
Can I install this pendant myself?
No. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting and it should always be installed by a qualified electrician, regardless of its Class II rating.
Is this pendant suitable for a bathroom?
No. It has an IP20 rating, which means it is designed for dry indoor spaces such as kitchens, dining rooms and offices, not bathrooms or other humid or wet areas.
How far can I lower this pendant?
The Lance pendant has an adjustable drop, with a maximum height of 190cm from the ceiling, so it can be set to suit different room heights and table positions.
