The Fairfield solar outdoor wall light combines black and white polycarbonate with a built in PIR sensor, giving you automatic, wire free security lighting for a doorway, path or garden wall.

How It Works
Fitted with a 2W integrated LED, not replaceable, powered by an integrated solar panel and battery, with a PIR motion sensor to trigger the light automatically. It isn't dimmable. As a Class III fixture it runs on safety extra low voltage and doesn't need an earth connection, which is typical for solar powered lights, so there's no need for a hardwired electrical installation.

Does this light need to be wired in?
No. It's a Class III fixture that runs on safety extra low voltage from its own integrated solar panel and battery, so there's no earth connection or hardwired electrics needed. You just fix it to the wall and let it charge in daylight.
How does the PIR sensor work?
The built in PIR motion sensor detects movement nearby and switches the light on automatically, then off again once no more movement is detected, so it works as a security light without any manual switching.
Can the bulb be replaced?
No. The Fairfield has a 2W integrated LED rated at 170 lumens and 3000K warm white light, which is not replaceable, so there's no bulb to change over the life of the fixture.
Is it suitable for a fully exposed outdoor spot?
Yes. It's rated IP54, which means it's protected against dust and splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for typical outdoor locations such as doorways, garden walls and sheds.
Does the light need direct sunlight to charge?
It charges via its integrated solar panel, so it performs best mounted somewhere that gets reasonable daylight exposure; deep shade all day will reduce how well the battery charges and how long the light stays on at night.
