The Detroit PIR combines the same ribbed, two way wall light as the standard Detroit with a passive infrared motion sensor built into the base. Instead of needing a separate switch, the light detects movement nearby and turns itself on, then off again once the area is clear.

Black Aluminium with a Ribbed Finish

Finished in matt black over an aluminium and polycarbonate body, the vertical fin detailing lets light escape in narrow stripes rather than a flat flood, casting a soft striped glow up the wall above and below the fixture. The matt black coating resists scratches and corrosion, and the IP44 rating means it is built for year round outdoor exposure.

How It Works

• Built in PIR sensor detects movement and switches the light on automatically
• Takes 2 x GU10 bulbs, around 7W LED each, not supplied
• Light is directed both upward and downward through the fin openings
• Wall mounted on a fixed backplate, wired into your outdoor lighting circuit
• Aluminium and polycarbonate construction rated IP44 for outdoor use
• Electrical Class I, so it needs to be earthed as part of installation

The PIR sensor makes this version well suited to entrances, driveways, side passages and anywhere you want a light to greet you automatically rather than relying on a manual switch. It still gives the same striped up and down glow as the standard Detroit, so it works as a security light and a feature light at once.
