A Sculptural Cage Design

The Crib is built around an open wire cage that fans out from the ceiling, leaving the bulb inside visible rather than hidden behind a shade. It works as a decorative piece with a slightly industrial edge, rather than a source of soft, diffused light.

Matt Gold Steel

The cage is made from steel with a matt gold finish, formed from narrow ribs that curve out from a central stem and back in again at the base. The open structure means light spills out through the gaps as well as from the bulb itself.

• Takes 1 x E27 bulb (not included), around 6W LED (60W incandescent equivalent) recommended
• Dimmable, if used with a compatible dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch
• Steel construction with a matt gold finish
• Class II (double insulated), no earth connection required
• 40cm diameter, 22cm deep

Where It Works Best

Because the bulb is on show, it works best with a decorative filament style bulb, over a dining table, in a hallway or as a feature above a seating area. It suits rooms where you want the light fitting to be noticed rather than tucked out of sight.

Questions People Ask

Is a bulb included?
No. The Crib takes 1 x E27 bulb, sold separately. An LED bulb of around 6W, the equivalent of a 60W incandescent bulb, is recommended.

Is the frame real gold?
No. It is steel with a matt gold painted finish, not solid or plated gold.

Does it need to be earthed?
No. The Crib is a Class II, double insulated fitting, so it does not need an earth connection.

Can I see the bulb once it's fitted?
Yes. The open cage design leaves the bulb visible, so a decorative filament style bulb works particularly well.
