A Traditional Lantern for Porches and Front Doors
The Searchlight Acton is a black outdoor wall light styled like a traditional lantern, with the light directed downward for a soft pool of glow at the door rather than a glare across the garden.
Materials and Finish
The body is cast aluminium finished in black, paired with clear bevelled glass panels that let light spill out on every side of the lantern.
How It Works
It takes a single E27 bulb, which isn't included, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits your porch. It isn't dimmable. As with any outdoor electrical fitting, it should always be installed by a qualified electrician, and as a Class I fitting it also needs to be properly earthed.

With an IP44 rating, the Acton is built for sheltered outdoor spots such as porches, front doors and covered walkways, where its period lantern shape suits a traditional or cottage style home.

It's rated IP44, which covers sheltered spots like porches and covered entrances, rather than positions exposed to direct rain.
Does it come with a bulb?
No. It takes a single E27 bulb, bought separately, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature yourself.
Can this light be dimmed?
No, the Acton isn't compatible with dimming, even if a dimmable bulb is fitted.
Does the light point up or down?
Down. The lantern shade directs light toward the ground, making it well suited to lighting a step or doorway rather than washing light up a wall.
Does this light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes. It should always be fitted by a qualified electrician, and as a Class I fitting it also needs a proper earth connection.
