The Schwung Zosia floor lamp carries two transparent glass globes, one larger than the other, at different heights along a slender brass frame that rises from a weighted base. Rather than a single point of light, the Zosia gives a room two, set at different levels, so the light it throws feels layered rather than flat. It brings the sculptural, mixed scale idea found in Schwung's ceiling fittings down to a standing lamp.

Transparent Glass in Two Sizes

The larger globe measures 250mm in diameter, the smaller 150mm, both in clear borosilicate glass that leaves the bulb inside fully visible. The transparent finish means the Zosia produces a warm, direct glow rather than a softened one, with the filament of each bulb visible through the glass. Positioned at slightly different heights on the frame, the two globes read as a considered composition rather than a repeated pair.

Choose Your Finish

The Zosia floor lamp is available with its brass frame and base in Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass or Polished Nickel. Black Gunmetal gives the frame a dark, understated presence next to the transparent glass. Lacquered Burnished Brass keeps a warm, traditional brass tone through the column and base. Polished Nickel brings a cooler, more reflective surface that picks up light from both globes.

How It Works

Each globe takes a 1.6W G4 LED bulb, included, giving a warm 2700K glow at around 180 lumens per bulb, 360 lumens in total. The lamp is dimmable, but only with electronic ELV or trailing edge dimmers. It runs from a 3 metre cable with an inline on/off switch and plug, the switch positioned around 500mm from the base for easy reach while seated. The lamp stands up to 1880mm tall with a footprint of approximately 190mm by 350mm at the base, and weighs 8.6kg complete. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms and carries CE/UL certification with a 2 year warranty.

Where It Works Best

Positioned beside an armchair or at one end of a sofa, the Zosia's lower globe sits close to reading height while the upper globe lifts the light into the room. It works equally well in a bedroom as an alternative to bedside table lamps, in a study behind a desk chair, or in a living room corner where a vertical fitting is needed to balance a room of horizontal furniture.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every Zosia lamp is made to order in solid brass and hand blown glass at the Namyslow workshop. Schwung describes floor lamps as one of the harder forms to get right in its range, since a standing lamp has to work from every angle in a room, not just from below.
