The Largest Pulsar, Built to Anchor a Wall
The Pulsar 250mm is the largest sconce in Schwung's Pulsar range, a single hand blown glass globe set on a brass backplate scaled up to make a genuine statement. At 250mm across, it is sized to work as a wall's main event rather than a supporting detail, without adding anything beyond the globe and its mount.
Choose Your Finish
The globe is available in the same three glass finishes as the rest of the Pulsar range. Opal matte glass diffuses the light into a soft, even glow with the bulb itself fully hidden. Marble matte glass carries a milky, veined pattern formed during the blowing process, individual to each globe, that gives the light a subtly layered quality. Dries glass is worked with fine drawn threads across its surface, breaking the light into a more intricate, textured pattern than the other two, and is the most tactile and characterful of the three at this larger scale. The frame is available in lacquered burnished brass, polished nickel or black gunmetal.
How It Works
The Pulsar 250mm takes a single 5W LED bulb, included. The globe measures 250mm in diameter and around 265mm high, on a 250mm diameter brass backplate, and the fitting weighs approximately 3.7kg, noticeably more substantial than the smaller two sizes. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only.
Where It Works Best
At 250mm the Pulsar earns its place as a single, considered fitting rather than one of a pair: an entrance hall, a sitting room wall with nothing else competing for attention, a bedroom where one well placed light says more than two smaller ones, or paired with a smaller Pulsar size in the same scheme to create a deliberate contrast in scale.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, every fitting is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the Namyslow workshop, and the studio's largest Pulsar globe demands the most of that process, since a bigger piece of hand blown glass is harder to keep consistent than a smaller one.

Questions People Ask
Is the Pulsar 250mm suitable for a bathroom?
No, it is rated IP20, which means it is designed for dry indoor rooms only.
Which finish should I choose?
It depends on how much pattern you want in the light. Opal matte gives the cleanest, most even glow, marble matte adds a subtle veined texture, and Dries glass creates the most intricate, textured shadow of the three.
Can I mix the 250mm with a smaller Pulsar size in the same room?
Yes, the range is built around a single form at three sizes, so pairing a 250mm with a 150mm or 200mm in the same scheme creates a considered contrast rather than a mismatch.
