Schwung Pulsar 150mm Wall Sconce Light

The Pulsar 150mm is the most compact piece in the Pulsar range — a wall sconce reduced to its minimum expression without losing any of the quality that defines it as a Schwung fitting. The studio, founded in 2014 in Namysłów, Poland by Belgian Dominique Sente and Dutch Rudi Nijssen, produces every fitting to order in solid brass and hand-blown glass. The founders came from collecting, from years of understanding what separates an object worth owning from one that merely fills a wall.

At 150mm (approximately 6 inches) across, the Pulsar 150mm presents a single hand-blown glass globe on a minimal brass wall mount — the most intimate scale in the range. Available in opal matte or marble matte glass, with the frame in lacquered burnished brass, polished nickel or black gunmetal. The marble matte version carries the characteristic swirling veined effect within the frosted glass, individually patterned in the blowing process. The opal matte gives a cleaner, more uniform soft glow.

At 150mm the globe produces a small, warm, focused pool of light — intimate and precise, the kind of light that works because of its focus rather than its spread. It is quiet in a room without being absent.

The Pulsar 150mm suits tight spaces where even the 200mm size would feel crowded: a narrow bathroom, a compact cloakroom, a dressing table wall, a bedside wall in a smaller bedroom or a staircase where fittings need to sit within the line of the handrail. It also works beautifully grouped in multiples — three or four in a line along a corridor or bathroom wall creates a considered, measured effect that a single larger fitting cannot replicate.

A few things worth knowing before you order:

• Brass frames are best cared for with a soft cloth or duster. A damp cloth works too — just make sure everything is completely dry before switching back on. Avoid cleaning agents on brass parts.
• Glass globes should be cleaned with a soft dry cloth on the outside only. For stubborn marks, a damp cloth will do the job. A gentle glass cleaner can tackle grease.
• All Schwung fittings are made to order and are non-returnable.
• Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
