Schwung Odyssey Paris Wall Sconce Light

A Parisian Arch in Fluted Glass

The Schwung Odyssey Paris Wall Sconce Light takes its shape from the arched doorways and windows of Paris. A tall, arched cloche of fluted borosilicate glass stands off a slim backplate on a small ball joint, and the vertical ribs in the glass break the light from a single bulb into soft, shimmering lines.

Brass and Gunmetal Finishes

The backplate and fittings come in two finishes:

• Lacquered Burnished Brass, a warm brushed gold that sets off the clear glass
• Black Gunmetal, which gives a darker, more graphic outline against a pale wall

The fluted glass cloche is the same on both.

How It Works

The Glass Cloche

The cloche is made from borosilicate glass, which Schwung describes as break resistant. It is rounded and closed at the top and open at the base, so the light glows through the fluted sides and also falls softly below the fitting.

Light Source

One 4W LED bulb is included, according to Schwung's specification, so the sconce is ready to use once it's wired in.

We recommend that this fitting is installed by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

At 305mm tall, 105mm wide and 144mm from the wall, it's slim enough for a hallway or landing, or for the space either side of a bed, mirror or doorway. Used as a pair it frames a fireplace or sideboard neatly, and it suits living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and bedrooms.

Made By Schwung

Schwung is the lighting studio of Rudi Nijssen, once an antiques dealer, and Dominique Sente, a trained goldsmith. Every piece is designed by the studio and made in Poland, pairing solid brass with mouth blown or cast glass, and each one is finished by hand.
