The Odyssey Cylinder, Brought to Table Height

The Odyssey 1 Table Lamp takes the same elongated opal mat glass cylinder as the rest of the Odyssey family and sets it on a compact brass base, standing 44.3cm tall in total. It is a slim, upright lamp rather than a wide or heavily based one, so it suits a sideboard, desk or bedside table where a smaller footprint matters.

Choose Your Finish

The base is available in Black Gunmetal, a dark matte brass finish, Lacquered Burnished Brass, which keeps the natural warm gold of brass under a protective lacquer, or Polished Nickel, a cooler and more reflective finish. The opal mat glass shade stays the same across all three.

How It Works

Takes 1x E14 LED bulb, 5W, around 450 to 500 lumens at 2700K warm white, not included. The base measures 10cm in diameter and 14.5cm tall, with the glass shade above it adding a further 25cm, for an overall height of 44.3cm. The complete lamp weighs 3.5kg, light enough to move easily between rooms or reposition on a desk or bedside table. As a plug in lamp it does not require electrical installation.

Where It Works Best

Its slim, upright shape and light weight make it a natural bedside lamp, and it works equally well on a desk, a console table, or paired either side of a sofa on two small side tables. The compact base means it does not need a particularly large surface to sit on.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. The Odyssey 1 Table Lamp shares its opal mat glass cylinder with the Odyssey pendant and floor lamp versions, so the same warm, fully diffused quality of light is available in whichever format best suits the room.
